NIRANJAN SHAH – Secretary, BCCI (when IPL was formed) and Vice Chairman, IPL ARUN JAITLEY – Vice President, BCCI and Delhi District Cricket Association
With more than 35 years on the Board in different capacities, Niranjan Shah was instrumental
in ensuring a smooth transition, specifically in the area of administration for the new Boards’
vision of transparency and in being the one point of contact for dissemination of news. These
responsibilities and his accountability were critical in the set up of IPL. Since then he has
become the Vice Chairman of the IPL.
MAK ‘TIGER’ PATAUDI – Former Captain, India
Charming, well articulated, refined and elegant, Tiger began to play for India in 1961 when
he was 20. One year later, after a car accident that cost him the sight of one eye, he became
the captain of the Indian cricket team. His history in the game as a player and now as an
administrator brings back the discipline and fair play required for this game to sustain itself
as it becomes more and more commercial.
SUNIL GAVASKAR – Former Captain, India
Considered one of the finest opening batsmen in the world, Sunny is notorious for having
set the most world records. With a keen eye for development he has singled out some of
the finest young players the country has to offer over the years and the world has watched
as they proved his intuition correct. His technical style as a player first and then applied to
cricket administration has been a bounty for IPL.
RAVI SHASHTRI – Former Captain, India
When he first wore the Indian uniform, he started as number 10. What a journey it has been
since; with determination, perserverence, self-belief and a strong will, he worked up the
batting order until he did what he dreamed he would do – open the innings for India. Players
in India and around the world describe Ravi as the embodiment of courage and passion and
sheer will power – exactly what is required to keep the spirit and the game alive. With the IPL,
it takes cricketers like Shastri to keep the fires burning.

Arun Jaitley is rated as one of the top lawyers in India. Nothing short of determined and
brilliant, Jaitley has been responsible for the development of the DDCA and the development
of cricket in India from a grass root level, ensuring that domestic cricket in his command has
only always gotten better.
RAJIV SHUKLA – Vice President, BCCI (when IPL was formed)
Shuklaji brings with him an amalgamation of love for cricket and development, political
knowhow and his first passion, journalism. Currently serving as the Chairman of the
Finance Committee for the BCCI, Shukla has in his capacity in UPCA, been responsible for the
development of cricket at a grass root level so much so that today’s national team features
some of the state’s finest. His all-pervasive sense of humour and agile ability to work with the
media and the players has worked well for IPL.
CHIRAYU AMIN – Vice President, BCCI
As one of India’s leading industrialists, Amin brings with him great administrative prowess,
corporate governance and an impressive experience of financial and marketing skills.
He has been the President of the Baroda Cricket Association for the past 10 years and the
Vice President for the last 5 years. Passionate about the game, he promotes the thorough
development of cricket at every level.
M.P. PANDOVE – Treasurer, BCCI
Pandove played over 75 first class matches for Punjab and then moved to the rank of selector.
He has been an administrator for cricket in Punjab for over 20 years and is currently the
Secretary of the PCA. With his years of holding various positions in the public service sector
with the government, he lends efficiency and discipline to the workings of the areas he is
involved in with the Board and the IPL.
