A brief background to the Governing Council

The IPL Governing Council was established under the following
tenets as approved by the BCCI Working Committee and
President in 2007:

“The Committee shall be appointed by the General Body of the
Board and the term of the members of the committee shall be
for a period of five years. The Committee shall comprise of the
following:

1. Chairman
2. Four members appointed by the Board
3. Three ex-Indian Cricketers of repute
4. The Office bearers of the Board during their tenure would be
ex-officio members of the Committee.”
