                                                                                          Mohammad Ashraful

Tell us the philosophy behind choosing the team logo and colors.
The team logo draws its inspiration from the ‘sudarshan’ chakra. A ‘sudarshan’ chakra can be used in offence and defense, by cutting Sanath Jayasuriya
through as well as blocking the undesirable. It is a divine weapon with limitless power of creation and destruction and is also the Zaheer Khan
                                                                                         Dhawal Kulkarni
 symbol of enlightenment.
                                                                                         Lasith Malinga

                                                                                         Ryan McLaren
Our team color is Blue, which is the corporate color for Reliance Industries which owns the Mumbai Indians team. Mumbai is also
                                                                                         Kyle Mills
associated with the sea which is blue.
                                                                                         Chetanya Nande
There were a lot of eyebrows raised when you paid close to a million dollars for JP Duminy. Did you expect to get into a such bidding Graham Napier
                                                                                        Abhishek Nayar
 war for him?
                                                                                        Ajinkya Rahane
We weren’t expecting a bidding war for Duminy, though there were other teams who had shown interest in him. Our philosophy was
                                                                                        Rohan Raje
simple -we were looking for a good middle order batsman and Duminy was that person. We went into the auction knowing that we
                                                                                        Luke Ronchi
 wanted Duminy.
                                                                                        Jaydev Shah
                                                                                        Pinal Shah
How devastating was the Zaheer Khan injury to Mumbai’s chances for the semis?
                                                                                        Harbhajan Singh
Zaheer was constantly giving the younger bowlers advice, helping them set their fi eld positions as required during the games. It was
a loss the entire team felt keenly. I would like to credit the youngsters for stepping up and trying to do their best in his absence. Jude Singh
                                                                                       Rahil Shaikh
                                                                                       Yogesh Takawale
One of the treats of the tournament was Jayasuriya and Sachin going hammer and tongs on that cold night in Port Elisabeth. The
team could’ve done with a few more of those? Saurabh Tiwary
Defi nitely. If we had put more runs on the board in a few of the other matches, we would have played a different role in IPL 2. Watching
Sachin and Sanath in Port Elizabeth was a treat- they are two of the world’s fi nest batsmen and together make a fantastic pair. Coach: Shaun Pollock

                                                                                       Support Staff:
Whose idea was it to get Jonty Rhodes as fi elding coach? He must’ve been an asset in garnering local support.
                                                                                       Jonty Rhodes
Jonty Rhodes has been known for his fi elding through his career. It was a collective decision taken by the team management when we
realized that in addition to the batsmen and bowlers performing, we also needed a cohesive fi elding unit to stop runs from getting Praveen Amre
through. Jonty seemed like the natural choice and worked wonders with the boys. Of course, the fact that he was South African Nitin Patel
                                                                                      Ramji Srinivasan
helped tremendously as we were playing on South African grounds.
                                                                                      Rahul Mahajan
                                                                                      Shishir Hattangadi
Words can’t capture the legend of Sachin, but in a few lines tell us about Sachin as Mumbai Indians captain.
As a captain, Sachin is very sure of what he wants out of the team. He has a way about him that speaks of quiet assurance and
confi dence and is very motivating for the rest of team. Conscious of his vast experience and knowledge, the team is happy to follow
as Sachin leads. It is a collective effort, as Sachin is also more than happy to listen to the teams suggestions of what they think needs “
to be done. He works very well in tandem with his vice captain, and has a tremendous infl uence on the youngsters. Having Sachin
leading the team fi lls everyone with a sense of assurance, as they know that they are in capable hands.
