England batsman Jonathan Trott has proven that he has what it takes to succeed at the international level with some sublime performances in the recent past. The 30-year-old is now looking forward to testing his skills once again against India, but this time in their own backyard.
“It is a challenge coming to India and one which I am definitely looking forward to. I had a look at their squad (India) and saw a few new players. It's going to be interesting how they adapt to playing for India. It's going to be an exciting series given that we did well against them in England. We want to maintain that momentum. We won in England but we want to win in other parts of the world.” he revealed.
The right-hander also mentions that there is no quick mantra for success and that hard work and perseverance are the only options.
“I love scoring runs and contributing to the team's cause. There is no hidden secret behind my success. I just work hard on my game and that is what I do. I have to see how far I can go and I have done pretty well so far, though I would like to get better. If I get out to a good ball, it is OK. Otherwise, I hate getting out.” Trott opined.
Conditions in the sub-continent are a far cry from what the English are used to, but Trott said the team is adapting well to the conditions in India.
“We are getting acclimatized to the conditions here. We had a long time at the nets and I think it was evident from our batting performance last night (in the second practice game against Hyderabad XI). We played really well. I think the pitch played better than the other day. It was very pleasing.” he concluded.
