BCCI wants a shorter tour of NZ
Wednesday 17 April 2013

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in negotiations with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to shorten its February-March tour next year, The New Zealand Herald reported.

India are set to play three Tests, five ODIs and one T20 international on the tour. But according to NZC chief executive David White, the BCCI wants this to be shortened to two matches each in the three formats.

“Nothing’s been decided. We are working through the details but I think [the schedule] could be done within the next couple of weeks,” White was quoted as saying in the report.

This will be India’s first tour to New Zealand since 2009-10, but their participation in the Asia Cup (24 Feb – 8 March 2014) clashes with the trip.

However, the NZC is reportedly reluctant to accept BCCI’s request.
